I’m a bit ashamed to admit it, but I’ve been officially sucked in to the Nadya Suleman circus. I even went so far as to watch parts of her interview with Dr. Phil over the past two days. (You can see clips here.)
But why? Why are any of us fascinated by her story? I think the question everyone has on their minds is “What was she thinking?” But also “How in the world is she going to take care of and support 14 children on her own?”
After watching the interviews, it seems obvious that she is not all there. She is ever-ready with rationalizations, explanations, excuses, not letting people finish their thoughts, jumping in to explain. Frankly, it got a little tiresome. I wanted to shout out “Shut the F up and listen for a change!!”
And yet, it must be awful feeling like you’re a caged animal under attack, your life choices (as unwise as they were) placed under the microscope of national and international scrutiny.
That’s probably what makes her such a fascinating figure. I wonder if people’s judgment of her depends on whether you’re a man or a woman. What do you think?

I know, I know. It’s like crack for the eyes.
Sorry, but real guys can’t get rid of the TV. How would we watch our sports then? By heading down to the corner bar every time we need a fix? That’s un-American.
My hand is raised, because I have the answer!
Instead of watching the sports, how playing a game of one on one? Now you’re talking!
No? Shut up, Neve. Okay.
