I spent part of Friday night at my friend Steve Mastroianni ‘s new gallery/photography studio in Tremont (2688 W. 14th St., across the street from La Tortilla Feliz). (He snapped this photo of me eating a delicious creamy, lemony dessert, plate perched delicately atop a glass of red wine.)
Steve is one of the best photographers in town (IMHO) and I’ve been following his work since at least the mid 90s. Back in 2006, he was even kind enough to lend one of his images to the front cover of my chapbook “Rustbelt Romance.”

Check out his web site here. And when you’re in the neighborhood, stop in, say hello, and view (or better still, BUY) some art.

Thanks, Neve. Says a lot, doesn’t it?
BTW, were there any photos of you in the gallery?
Where can I get my grubby little paws on that chapbook, Miles. I’d love to add that to my personal library. Are they still for sale?
I think there are copies floating around local bookstores. Suzanne should have a few at Mac’s Backs on Coventry.
Yes, as a matter of fact, the photo is perfect of you. I heard the lemony, custardy desserts were TDF. I had a beer instead because…
ahem, of course there were no pictures of this girl’s life size ass hanging in Steve’s studio.
Yes, buy Miles’ chapbook, it’s fantastic!
