Saw this article on Cleveland.com announcing that Continental was cancelling its Cleveland-Paris direct flight.
This past summer I flew this route, which was so much better than slogging through Newark or Detroit or Chicago first and then on to Europe. It made me feel like I was in a big, grown-up city. Sit my ass on a plane in Cleveland, fly 8 hours, and step off of plane in Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris. Nice.
At least they’re sticking with the Cleveland-London flight, only switching from Gatwick Airport to the much larger and closer to center of London Heathrow Airport.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackThis is sad news. I can’t say that I’m surprised after the debacle they put me and others through when those lousys canceled their direct flights from Cleveland to London..um…two weeks before the trip. This just happened in September.
Silly me…looking for the most direct flight from point A (CleveO) to point B (Italy). Oh, nooo…those simple, logical plans were thwarted, dumped, and gawfed at. I learned I was traveling to the garden spot of Newark, prior to my trip across the large pond.
Do I sound bitter? No…I swear I’m over it now.
Is it too late to ask Santa for a private jet?
In this economy, you can probably pick one up on eBay. Maybe there’s even another one Gov. Palin is selling, you never know…
