I had the day off from teaching today so I spent a good part of the day cleaning out leaf-choked gutters, raking leaves, and tending to the compost pile behind the garage. That’s where I snapped these pics of my resident squirrel-friend sitting atop the compost pile and snacking on some unsalted roasted peanuts.

Hi Phillip,
I’m trying to recall… was it a logic class at CSU? Sorry to hear about your troubles. Sounds like you’re still at it though… keep on truckin’ and thanks for stoppin’ by.
Hi Miles,
Nice pictures. …unsalted roasted peanuts…. I don’t think you’re supposed to feed the wild animals. If you’re not careful, they’ll end up sitting down at the dinner table with you, and then sleeping next to you in your bed.
Thanks for the warning. I checked. The unsalted ones are OK. But still, you don’t want to make it a habit. You’re right, though. I gotta be careful with those wild animals…
I’m looking for a wild animal to sleep next to my bed or closer.
Neve?
Lions, tigers, bears and Steve G, oh my!
Let’s give it up for wild animals – and Peanuts! At our old house a squirrel broke into our basement and played avant-garde music on our old out-of-tune piano. I named him Schroeder. John Cage would have been the obvious name, but I had a feeling he wouldn’t appreciate being Caged.
Love the squirrel pics, Miles!
Thanks for stopping by, Theresa.
